From Retail to CHRO — How Leslie Graham’s Love of Helping People Led to the C-Level

On the newest episode of Hire Learning, our host, Oz Rashid, is joined by Leslie Graham, Chief Human Resources Officer at Groups Recover Together, the premier provider of value-based care for individuals grappling with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) across the nation.

Leslie started her career in retail, but while she was supposed to be focusing on sales and operations, she loved hanging out with the team members. Realizing this, she decided HR was the path for her.

Leslie believes the hiring process starts with connecting with the whole person. Her interview strategy revolves around the fact that the candidate is interviewing her as much as the other way around.

Oz and Leslie each share stories about the toughest feedback they ever received. In both cases, it was a humbling experience that they each walked away from having learned a valuable lesson.

Leslie likes to make sure she hires a diverse group of talent in her organization, so all the different perspectives and experiences can come together to produce great results.

Leslie and her team are excited about starting a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative at her company. They plan on launching a pilot to do company-wide education on the topic of diversity, something that is new for them.
